From 6 to 12 April, the EGI CSIRT participated in the third Thematic CERN School of Computing on Security. Held in Abingdon, the school brought together security enthusiasts from several countries around the world who, as part of their jobs, need to ensure the security and resilience of the computing resources they manage, and who want to be prepared to detect and manage potential security incidents. The school included 30 hours of lectures, workshops and practical exercises, as well as a student presentation session.
Lectures covered topics such as risk management, security architecture, security monitoring, security operations and incident response with forensics – in short, the security controls for protection, prevention, detection and response.
